I am simply sharing my experience dealing with this place and anyone can choose on their own but I own 7 cars and contacted them for an issue I was experiencing in my vehicle. The lady was quick to get me an appointment but after scheduling me I was told they charge $217 just to bring it in to be diagnosed. Like I said I have many cars and have been to shops before but this was the first shop I came to here in Brentwood since moving here. When I asked if the $217 would also go towards the repair once found and fixed I was told no and that the $217 is to diagnose and repairs would be on top of that. I've never been to a shop that priced like that so I canceled my service. I literally went to a shop right down the street and the total repair was $280 including diagnostic. The thing I didn't like was when I told the woman here I was not going to move forward with the service she began to SLANDER every local shop by saying you can take it elsewhere but they will up charge to make up that difference. Her logic was way off because my $280 repair I ended up getting down the street would have cost me alsomst $500 here. Now who's price gouging here. I choose to not do business with people who slander others to make themselves look better. This just proved they will do and say whatever to make people feel like if you don't go to them you will be scammed by others. Good luck here if you choose to go here.
Matthew, Thank you for taking time to share your experience and concern. We value your input and respect your opinion. As all incoming calls are recorded, I was able to review the phone call. I confirm the service advisor advised that the diagnosis fee of $217.31 was not applied towards the repair. This is true. We have to pay our technician to complete the testing to determine the cause and correction of a concern. Their education and experience are invaluable to determine what is a correct repair will be and they should be paid accordingly. I also confirm that she did state is it likely if a shop is not charging your diagnosis fee up front that the diagnosis fee maybe included in the cost of the repair. This comes from her personal experience. It was not her intent to “slander” other shops but to provide you with insight. As we are friendly with many of the local shops, we would not speak a mistruth or “slander” any of them. Being in the automotive repair business for 15+ years in this area, I am not aware of any shop or dealership that does not charge for a diagnosis separately from the repair. That being said, I am happy you found a shop that did not charge for diagnosis and that they were able to address your misfire so quickly. Thank you again for your input. Sincerely, Ann Pratt, Owner Keep It New Auto Service
